This is an image from an oil painting featuring beautiful end of day lighting effects over the Kakadu wetlands. I painted the original in oil paints and I made the image into postcards like this one I have featured as a  FREE giveaway.

Take a guess at where we will stay on Friday night, even make a suggestion and we might choose it. :-).

On Friday night, whoever has chosen a place closest to where we will stay, or if several people,  have chosen the place, I will draw the winner.

I will post this postcard to whatever mailing address you would like me to send it..

Face Book is introducing the Like button starting today people will be able to connect with your Page by clicking “Like” rather than “Become a Fan.” We hope this action will feel much more lightweight, and that it will increase the number of connections made across the site. I LIKE this; it is far less ostentatious to ask people to like my Kathy Shell page than to ask you to be my fan. I am happy with this, subtle change of emphasis as I love sharing my creative work but do not need people to feel they have to be fans.   Hope now that intense sounding ‘fan’ word can be replace by ‘like’ J, my (lol, what do I call you now), lol 'likers' ;-), will be comfortable inviting their friends to come visit and ‘like’, my Kathy Shell page on facebook

In my Kathy Shell page on face book I publish all ten of my blogs, each having it’s own leaning but emphasizing healthy lifestyle rather than lose weight fast and I share our positive, gray nomad lifestyle through my travel writing. Reg and I are currently staying at Gerroa NSW to stay at the highly recommended and very dog friendly Seven Mile beach Holiday Park, with our caravan site set up beside the beach. It is wonderful here I am walking and running on the beach, swimming, painting, blogging, and caring for my husband and this my life, and the motivational people I meet and  beautiful places we go is the subject that I publish to my Kathy Shell  face book page that I would love to have you visit and click, ‘like’.

I also run competitions for those who visit this Kathy Shell page, I currently have the audio book, Eclipse by-Stephenie-Meyer, value of $45. Including free postage, to be won, by one of my Kathy Shell (artist), page regulars on face book. I would love to see you there J

The good life?

Description of book

“Our friends thought we had taken leave of our senses. Larry and I had traded Florsheim wingtips and Manolo Blahnik sandals for muddy steel-capped work boots. We had given up brioches and cappuccinos in favour of homemade bread and jam. In our fifties, we took on the heavy manual labour of farming that would have better suited us in our twenties, and our plan was to become as self-sufficient as possible.”

When global oil reserves run dry, the price of food, fuel and other everyday necessities will skyrocket out of the reach of ordinary people. An energy crisis is coming, and it will change the world we know forever.
Adrienne and Larry are an average middle-aged couple who have left their children and grandchildren, their friends, their jobs and a comfortable home in Sydney and set themselves up on a twelve-acre block in Nana Glen in northern New South Wales. They aren't chasing a whimsical dream or planning an idyllic retirement. Their goal is to establish a fully self-sustaining food farm, as quickly as possible, that will provide for them and their family in the uncertain years ahead.
CHOOSING EDEN is Adrienne's inspiring first-hand account of their efforts to learn how to get back to basics and live off the land. It's a fascinating story told with warmth and humour, but it has an urgent message: we need to make changes in our lives, and the sooner we act the better.
As seen on the Seven Network's The Real Seachange.
Paperback.
